Joe Zarba is a retired New York City school teacher having spent the last 18 years developing a program and teaching photography in a highly successful, nationally recognized program in a Brooklyn, New York middle school. Joe spends many weekends photographing weddings, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, Sweet 16's and communions and other social gatherings but since retiring, plans to devote more time to travelling and photographing the people and culture of Italy and in particular, Sicily.

For the past several years, he has photographed Carnevale, the world renowned pre-Lenten festival in both Venezia, Italy and Acireale, Sicily. His love for candid and close up photography can especially be seen in his images from those venues.
